The standard Deep Axle Cap is manufactured from Stainless steel and like the dome hides the end of the axle and the Starlock® push on fastener. The shape of the deep axle cap has been designed to allow for greater penetration of the axle through the Starlock® push on fastener than the dome style allowing the Starlock® push on fastener to grip further along the axle.

Extra Deep Axle Cap for Starlock® Push On Fasteners

Extra Deep Axle Cap for Starlock® Push On Fasteners.
The standard Extra Deep Axle Cap is manufactured from electro plated steel and provides the maximum axle penetration of all the cap styles. The Extra Deep Axle Cap was with its increased height was originally manufactured to captivate the axle supporting legs of the specially designed self aligning Starlock® push on fastener but is used for other applications where maximum axle penetration is required.

The standard Dome Axle Cap style is dome and is manufactured from Stainless steel. The decorative Dome Axle Cap provides and hides the end of the axle and the Starlock® push on fastener providing a more cosmetic appearance. The height of the Dome Axle Cap has been developed to allow the axle to penetrate through the Starlock push on fastener sufficiently to provide maximum grip.

There are many applications where the Starlock requires a high level of corrosion resistance or it is unsuitable to use a plated finish. A limited range of Starlock have been manufactured from austenitic stainless steel and are available to provide the answer.

Bronze & Varnish Starlocks®

There are two ranges of standard spring steel Starlock. One range for imperial sizes and the other for metric. For identification purposes a colour code is used to denote the ranges. The imperial spring steel Starlocks are colored Blue and the metric is coloured Bronze. The Starlocks are then given a thin varnish coating to provide a high level of finish. This finish will not protect against corrosion but is adequate for the protection of the Starlock in most dry environments.
